new WoW recruit-a-friend campaign

If you’ve been thinking about trying out WoW, now’s the time to do it. Blizzard is running a new promotion that will allow you to start playing with a friend who already has an account—the friend with an existing account will get a really nice in-game gift, and both of you will be able to level your characters 3x as fast when you’re grouped together.

This addresses a long-standing problem with the game, which is the lack of a “sidekick” mode to allow people with high level characters to engage with friends whose characters are newer.

If this is the thing that “turns” you, I’d be very grateful if you’d let me be your referrer; in return, I’ll happily quest with you to get you leveled up quickly. Just let me know which email you want the referral code sent to.

I've been thinking about getting back into WoW for a while; although it seems like this only applies to new accounts created and existing but inactive account don't qualify. Then again, it's not like I'm incredibly attached to my account.
Must...fight...WoW urge...
I'll have to think and get back to you. =)

Also, reading the FAQ regarding triple XP: If the two characters are not the same level, only the lower-level character is given the experience boost.

Which Warcraft server do you play on?

Lee--yes, it has to be a new account. And it's clearly a "sidekick mode" gimmick on the leveling...a way to get your friend's toon leveled up quickly so you can play together, or a way to get two people two level new toons quickly. Either way, it's clever. Still, the real draw for me is the Zhevra mount :)

Rod, I play on Eitrigg. Most of my toons are Horde, although I do have a Draenei priest who's in her mid-30s.
