new social software blog

Blogging has been a little light over the past week because I've been working with Clay Shirky, Ross Mayfield, Sébastien Paquet, and Jessica Hammer on a brand-new Corante blog on "social software" called "Many-to-Many" (which I'll refer to from now on as M2M, since that's a lot shorter and easier to type).

I'm really excited about this--it's an amazing and talented group of people with a wide range of views. I know Clay's taken some flak lately as being somewhat exclusionary, but that's not been my experience in the development of this new blog. This is not a list of A-list bloggers, nor is it the "in-crowd" at O'Reilly (three of us aren't at etcon, in fact). But it is a group of people with a variety of perspectives and experiences. Much to my delight, it's 40% women. And if we count Clay as a part-time academic (he teaches at NYU), it's split right down the middle academic vs practicioner.

I think the new blog will be an interesting space. I hope you'll stop by and visit.

But M2M is a Norwegian pop band! (http://www.m2m.com/) Actually I think they split up, but they were until recently (in my slow adult's world) two very young girls with long brown hair and exquisite voices and one or two guitars. I liked them because one was called Marion and that's my sister's name. A good name :)

The blog looks great, though, and I'm looking forward to following it!

"RSS: Coming soon!"

I can't wait that long :-)

btw, nice to see that my quotes are being converted to "smart" quotes

That site may soon make it to my blogroll :)
There's another site that seems to work like the "similar blogs" at the eatonweb portal, but instead of relying on common interests, it relies on common (external) links:

Liz, I just want to say that I'm amazed...I've tested your blog out on my iBook in so many resolutions and on Opera, Mozilla, Safari, IE and on my PC in Opera, Mozilla and IE and...it looks the same on all of them even on different resolutions.

I'm seriously jealous. And btw, to make this applicable, the new blog is a good idea, it's nice to have cumulative minds.

Congrats! I know I'm going to have _such_ fun with this new weblog!

I linked you. Hope you have as much fun as I've had with Got Game. Best of luck.
