belated recipe addition

A little after the fact, here’s what I actually brought to Thanksgiving dinner. (Inspired by George’s “Carrots and Turnips” post…)

Aunt Deb’s Infamous Sweet Potato Casserole

3 c cooked, mashed sweet potato
1 tsp cinnamon
1 stick butter (or margarine)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Combine above ingredients and put in well greased casserole dish

Topping:
1 c brown sugar
1/3 c butter (or margarine)
1/3 c flour
1 c chopped pecans

Sprinkle topping over casserole. Bake 350 for about 30 min. (Can bake ahead
and reheat, but it doesn’t really save any time …)

I made something very similar for the reslife thanksgiving dinner we had.It was candied yams with marshmallow and caramelized brown sugar topping. I've never cooked before, so it might not have been great, but oh well.
